Everytime I stumble across my 'Bad Mergentheim' archive, I think of this short, but striking situation. So I just thought to upload a picture of it. I was very lucky that I had my hands on the trigger and lens turned into the right direction in that moment. (In Bad Mergentheim you sometimes have the problem that you don't know where to look - 40 wolves are a hell lot of wolves.)
It never cease to amaze me how complex the social behaviour of wolves is. I've never seen a wolf brushing around a packmember, rubbing it's head under the other wolf's chin, as it's usually something cats do. That was definitely a flirt-attack. XD
I managed to take three photos of that moment: Link
(Sub)species: Eastern Timber Wolf (Canis Lupus Lyacon)
Localization: Wildpark Bad Mergentheim, Bad Mergentheim, Germany
You can use my photos as long as it is not for commercial purpose. Manipulations, roleplaying games, as drawing references ... I don't mind that. Photos are made for sharing. :]
You don't have to note me, but crediting would be fine. And feel free to show me, what you do with my photos, I'd really like to see it!
